| I was wondeirng what your opinions on ebooks/ereaders are.
I have to admit, nothing beats sitting down with a real book, but I have so many that I had to get rid of some when I moved. It was hard to give them up. So for Christmas, I got an ereader.
Now I can technically carry every book that I own. If I go on vacation I don't have to drag 3 full sized hardbacks. Also, no one has to know what I'm reading. It's only the size of a thin paperback, so its way more convenient. (Of course, I wouldn't take it to the beach, or near a pool.)
But, even though I love it, no one else I know has one. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions. Or if anyone else out there even owns one. |

| Well, mine has a lifetime, full replacement warranty. Since it was from Best Buy, I can take it right to the store and trade it in if I have to.
As for the books, you don't lose them. Once you have purchased a book, it is always in the database of the "ebook store" that you bought it from. That way, you could keep as many as you want on the device, and the rest are still waiting. You just connect to your computer and in a few seconds it's right back. This way, if you do break yours, and need a new one, all of your books are still in your library. (Of course you would lose your bookmark, but that would happen if you lost the real book anyway.)
You can also put the same book on several devices, so you can share the book.
Just some tips I've learned with my ebook. |

| well thats good if you never loss you books but i guess a lot of people still have that fear. the ebook would save loads of space and is easy to store but books are kind of more real to me also i have a hard time looking at a screen all day while i can read all day with out getting a head ache.
i really like this thread nice to see people for ebooks and people for normal books i dont have to out run the zombies i just have to out run you !!! |

| (Off topic quickly but wow! Annmarie, fab book collection!)
I think Ebooks are brilliant for people who travel a lot and dont want to carry around huge books. My mum has one and loves taking it on holiday, or travelling to work, as its small and fits nicely in her bag. Personally for me, I prefer proper books. I love the new book smell! Nothing beats a new book smell! And I like having all my books together, in their correct series on display. I'm a bit of a collector. |
